The  leaders in the local boating and nautical industry gather together once more in a new and accessible venue to showcase their products and services  during the two-day affair, while giving the general public a glimpse of the lush and glamorous lifestyle of the rich and famous.

“We have as our trade fair theme this year ‘An Extraordinary Outdoor Boat Show Experience.’ What could be more extraordinary than having the SEAFAIR Boat Show 2015 during the festive season of Christmas,” said Geraldine Castillo of Organizing Legworks Events.

Castillo bared that they have packed a lot of activities both on and offshore for those who will be going to the event sponsored by SM by the Bay, Shakey’s, Bacardi, Cream Factory and supported by ALS Marine, Solanda, Nautimus, Realship Yacht Rentals, Tronqued Boats and Tow and Stow Industries.

Among the featured sports attractions, she said, will be the  beach volleyball and beach tennis competitions at the SM by the Bay sand court and yachting and dragon boat rowing regattas organized by the Philippine Sailing Association and Philippine Dragon Boat Rowing Federation, respectively.

A highlight will be the challenging “Poker Run”  on Sunday pitting the country’s premier speedboat enthusiasts in a 50.2-nautical circuit from the SM by the Bay pier to Corregidor Island and back again where a total pot of P100,000 will be at stake according to Eymare Po.

“Local Poker Run pioneer Liloy Salilican is even fielding two boats during our competition,” Po noted, adding that the overall champion will also be awarded P40, 000.00 worth of the world-class MBL Wines.

Entries will pass through five checkpoints and, just like in the real poker game, will be dealt a card each at every stop. The team with the highest hand will be declared the winner in the exposition also backed by the Manila Yacht Club, Subic Bay Yacht Club, Punta Fuego Yacht Club, St. Luke’s Global, Lifeline, Camaya Coast, Hotel Fleuris Palawan and Hotel Soffia Boracay.

Of course, also on display at SEAFAIR Boat Show 2015 are some the country’s premier luxurious yachts where enthusiasts can go on a cruise on top of the equally exciting helicopter trip for a birds-eye view of the Metro Manila, both at reasonable rates, said Po.

Aware of the impact of the nautical industry on the environment, organizers have lined up talks on marine conservation and eco tourism to be handled by resource speakers in the event likewise supported by Travel Life, WheninManila, C Magazine, Calibre, Asian Traveler and DMC Marketing Services.

Admission tickets are priced at P150 for each whole day with the part of the proceeds going to the marine conservation programs of World Wildlife Philippines.

Paincake Patrol Launches //Social Constructs

Standard

Sharing the belief that a life worth living is defined by a purpose of your own manufacture and not by social consensus, one-man electronic music project Paincake Patrol launches his first-ever EP //Social Constructs on December 5, 2015 at Today x Future in Cubao, Quezon City.

Poster.jpg

Created in 2011 out of passion for music, Paincake Patrol is the recording project of musician Eeman Bulotano. This experimental solo project is focused on creating alternative electronic and ambient music, reflecting the artist’s experiences and views on existence in general.

“[I want to] make music people can listen to without [them] having to ignore the person standing next to them,” says Eeman whose goal is to provide music that “makes you think, but yet somehow not [distract you] at all.”

Emotions, Experiences and Expression

The idea behind //Social Constructs and Paincake Patrol itself is inspired and widely influenced by the very existence of ambient music as pioneered by Brian Leno during the 1980’s. Usually electronic and instrumental in nature, ambient music aims to create a perfect balance between disappearance and presence.

Though it has existed for a long time now, ambient music remains relatively unknown to the mainstream crowd as it is seen as “too smart” or “overly deep.” However, Eeman and many other ambient music artists see this type of music as simpler and more relatable compared to any other genre because it provides the chance to be freely interpreted by its listeners. This genre is powered by the experiences and emotions not just by the one who created the music but also by those whom the music is created for.

Songs from this genre evolve from the mere self-expression of one artist into many different stories weaved by those present in the audience. They are taken and understood in more ways than one – similar to how individuals give meaning to various things and, ultimately, to life.

 Existence Defined and Redefined

Music relives one’s memories, and the entire Paincake Patrol project intends to elicit nostalgia while stimulating thought-provoking conversations. With this particular EP, the artist focused on his view of the general meaning of existence and how empty it may seem when viewed only in an objective and logical way.

Each composition is appropriately titled based heavily on how the artist views reality. Combining master beats with ethereal notes, //Social Constructs’ first three tracks aim to reflect the existential angst and loneliness one might experience when he or she has failed to see reason behind life.

(Ee)Man behind the Music

Fascinated with weird ambient and dreamy sounds, Eeman has been recording his own music and releasing it on Sound Cloud starting 2010. He has released three LPs from 2011 to 2014. Since then, he has been featured in a few publications, such as Indienationblog and Exposed Vocals. In the Philippine Indie Rock Awards 2015, he was awarded Keyboardist of the Year through his current band, Audio Drive Thru.

Paincake Patrol (2).JPG

He took the next step early this year by doing live gigs all over the metro. Six short months and several introductions to numerous people later, he is now ready to share his music more widely to the world.

Check out Paincake Patrol on Facebook, Sound Cloud, Twitter, Instagram and his blog or catch more of Eeman’s keyboards and synths as he plays with Audio Drive Thru.

Partners needed to help business integrate new powerful cloud telephony service in the Philippines.

Standard

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are seen to be as the solution for the inclusive growth not only in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) but also in the ASEAN Economic Community which is both taking shape this year.  Vinea Distributions, Inc. (VDI0, Knowlarity’s distributor in the Philippines calls on partners to help business integrate this new powerful cloud telephony service.

“We are looking for partners and resellers who would join our journey in providing businesses with the capability to boost their business and increase their capacity to capture sales lead through Knowlarity,” says Jason Hidalgo, VDI Knowlarity Product Specialist.

The cost of traditional PBX systems is limiting the growth of MSMEs because of the cost of installing the infrastructure and also maintaining high cost of communication charges.  SuperReceptionist, the initial product offering from Knowlarity is a hosted business phone system that allows you to record, route, forward, and track every call that your company makes or receives.  This new cloud telephony service practically replaces the traditional PBX systems ‘need to pay’ model with cloud’s ‘need now’ concept of paying only for what they require.

Hidalgo is very positive that businesses who will adapt Knowlarity SuperReceptionist can maximize this new system in order to capture business leads that are previously lost through traditional PBX.

“Since this is a new technology, partners and new resellers will benefit a lot since besides helping businesses grow they would be assured that they are offering a unique and innovative technology,” Hidalgo added.

Knowlarity was launched in the Philippines by Vinea Distribution, Inc. (VDI), October 8, 2015 at Discovery Primea.  This is the first ever public launch of a cloud telephony service that is very promising and is invested by the famed venture capital firm Sequoia Capital.
